Ziggy Gordon
This is the first in a new series of interviews with Scottish footballers who play outside of the UK. There’s no better place to start than with the man who got us ‘Gettin’ Ziggy with it’ on the Trampled Bet Podcast. Ziggy Gordon talks to John Walker about his career in Scotland and overseas.
About Ziggy Gordon
Ziggy Gordon started playing in Scotland with Hamilton Academical & Partick Thistle. After that, he had spell in Poland with Jagiellonia Bialystok & Pogon Siedice. His current team, located New South Wales on the South-East Australian coast in the South Pacific Ocean, is Central Coast Mariners who play in the A-League.
The defender talks to us about his early career in Scotland, being a chess champion & how he made the decision to move to a foreign country to play. We also discuss the language and cultural barriers and why he chose the Aussie sunshine over Glasgow.
